You opened the door of Kid’s Haven
just to let me in.
You opened the doors of your hearts
to hide me away from the street
and dark shadows.
You opened your arms wide to show me
I’m welcomed to this building.
You loved me
when almost everyone hated me.
You pulled me up
when everyone else was down on me.
You taught me so much more in life
than sitting around doing
nothing.
And I’ve gained so much.
You have taught me many things,
things that will be memories for life
for when I’m missing you.

who gave me the opportunity to stand here
and free myself.
